Energy Sector Investment of IDR 800 Trillion Will Enter Indonesia

Assistant Deputy for Mineral, Energy and Non-conventional Resources of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment Amalyos said the government would continue to make efforts to facilitate the realization of these investments.

"Currently we are facilitating several potential investors which we will encourage in the energy sector," he said, at the Pertamina Energy Forum, Jakarta, Tuesday (26/11).

Regarding the investment value, he continued, based on the calculations of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, the investment value of these projects reached USD 63.6 billion.

"Currently, we have recorded around USD 63.6 billion or around Rp 800 trillion," he said.

He said that the investment project is already in the pipeline and will be focused on its realization over the next 5 years.

"As stated by the Coordinating Minister (Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan) until 2024 and now the investment has been included in the pipeline, we will facilitate this later," he said.

In addition, the meeting also discussed cooperation between Pertamina and Aramco. Regarding this matter, the foreign ministers of the two countries discussed it in Jeddah and agreed to encourage a ministerial meeting of the two countries.

Then, as a follow-up, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan, Minister of BUMN Rini Soemarno, and President Director of Pertamina Nicke Widyawati had a meeting with Saudi Arabian Energy Minister Khalid Al-Falih on the sidelines of the G20 Energy Ministers Meeting, 16 June 2019 then in Japan.

It is hoped that the discussion of the cooperation can be completed in October, so that cooperation can be carried out immediately.
